About

Not just a journal, but a conversation you’ll keep forever.

At Ink Link, we believe the most important stories aren’t the ones that make headlines; they’re the ones we share at home with the people we love.

Founded by Cia, a former journalist and busy mum-of-three in Brisbane, Ink Link makes intentional tools that help people connect through writing, including our flagship product: The Pass-Back Journal.

Featuring beautifully-designed and tactile pages that open the door to honesty, curiosity, laughter and even the tricky stuff, the Pass-Back Journal encourages children and grown-ups to share the conversations that matter, one page at a time.

Every prompt has been tested with a broad range of kids to make sure it feels right for ages 8 –14 (although kids as young as 6 have also enjoyed completing the pages). The content is deeply thoughtful, engaging and always age-appropriate.

Our story

My kids and I made our first Pass-Back Journal because we needed a better way of connecting on a daily basis... something more meaningful than our usual chats in the car or quick goodnights before bed.

I wanted a space where we could share things, big or little. Those silly thoughts, troublesome worries, big dreams or important conversations that don't always make it into our day-to-day conversations. A way to stay close, even when life gets busy. To get ahead of tricky moments and share the lessons I’ve learned, in the hope they might shape my children’s path in some small but meaningful way.

So I started passing a notebook back and forth with my daughter. What began as a few questions and fun quizzes quickly became something bigger. It turned into a ritual. A highlight in our busy schedules. We’d each light up when we noticed the other had left a new note. And as that first notebook filled, I tucked it away imagining the day we’d read it again and be transported right back to this season of life.

That first little book brought me so much joy, I wanted to create something to help others grab hold of that same feeling.

That was the seed of the Pass-Back Journal… and as I researched more, I realised it could become more than just a sweet tradition. It could be a powerful tool: one that helps children and grown-ups grow closer while building skills and confidence along the way.

So, in that spirit, Ink Link’s Pass-Back Journal has been designed with carefully curated questions and prompts to help you:

• Build stronger bonds
Relationships grow in what we choose to share and how we respond. This journal opens the door to those conversations in an unassuming and thoughtful way. It’s not just about the words written today, but the echoes they leave behind.

• Understand emotions
Writing slows the world down just enough to catch up with how we feel. For children, it’s a chance to learn emotional expression. When adults go first, it shows that feelings aren’t something to hide, but something we can share and grow through together.

• Hold onto memories
The funny ones. The small ones. The ones that would fade without a place to land. This journal becomes a time capsule, not just of events, but of people, perspectives and inside jokes.

• Grow in confidence
There’s power in seeing your own words on the page. Whether it’s writing a carefully crafted sentence or answering a pop quiz, journalling reminds you that your voice matters and that you are at the center of your life story. It also builds some of the most important skills we carry through life: language, writing, and communicating with others. These are the tools we use to share who we are with the world, and there’s no better place to practice than here.

• Make space for stillness
Sometimes the world moves too fast. This journal is your invitation to pause: to sit with yourself and with each other and simply write. As someone who typically runs at a million miles an hour, this was something I initially struggled with, but a habit I've come to love through journalling.

Don’t think of the Pass-Back Journal as only a notebook. Think of it as a conversation starter. A memory-maker. A time capsule of who you both are at this time in your lives.

Thank you for writing with us...
